Thank you so much for the reply, I am a beginner in appian, and my manager asked me the question and was unable to answer it. The question was in context of memory management.

Let me help you get started perhaps:

the 'Start Process smart service' is a 'smart service' (i.e. a node in an Appian process model) that starts an instance of a process model
the 'User input task' is also a 'smart service' that creates a task for a User to provide some input
a 'User input task' always has to be in a process model
not all process models have 'User input tasks'

Hi snehalathac0001, As Stewart , these two are entirely different things and have different uses. I would strongly recommend you to go through appian documentation and Appian academy courses to understand about Appian objects and their uses.
