Its a question from senior developer exam. So had this doubt. Documentation is saying it will be applicable for all instances but when practically testing, its working only for future instances.

I do not test this frequently, but I remember that I saw the behaviour I described.

But, to be honest, I think this is not much of a deal. Do you have a specific reason to investigate this?

Stefan Helzle I did a small check. Its not behaving that way.
I ran a process having 7 archive days. Its now completed. Then I made archival change to 0 days and published the pm. Then I ran one new instance. That particular instance got archived the moment it completed. But the one which was completed previously is not archived. Its still present. Am i Missing anything here?

This will affect all instances.
