We have a portal task report with an assignees column.

Can you wrap your column in tostring() and try? This would output a string of groups/users.

Not sure, are your ACPs configured correctly? Also, as a workaround, have you tried queryprocessanalytics expression?

Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately I get the same result, its as if the node in the process cannot handle groups?

Have you tried using =task_assignee_owner() for your column definition?

attached is showing the the portal report with the correct assignment.
the other showing incorrect after going through the Execute Process Report node as where the assignment was to the group it ignores and uses the next available one that isn't a group
