When you initiate a related action does the "Related Action" tab get highlighted in the sub-menu? I may not be correct and it may not be helpful to you, but I think your process model is getting terminated immediately after instantiation. Any quick task issue. Are you able to see the process instance status under the "Processes" tab of "Runtime Data" view and does everything look okay there with the instances?

Are all related actions always visible or only few of them causing issues? When you initiate a related action does the "Related Action" tab gets highlighted in the sub-menu?

You can create a locking mechanism by using process report and querying for other active processes

This issue can be replicated by navigating to a dashboard using a hyperlink on a form.

We are on Appian Cloud, 17.2 latest version. Buttons are hidden as I click a button to start a related action.

My client's sites are on the latest hotfix of 17.2 and I have just confirmed (in at least one of our environments) that this issue is NOT happening for us. Do you happen to have a different environment you can test on and verify it's not some sort of anomaly to your site? Is it happening across different record types, and regardless of which related action is clicked and which dashboard view the click happens on?

OK. I understand. The buttons are still visible. But still, be aware that the user can still trigger a related action on the same record item by navigating away from the form back to the record.

Yes we have configured the dashboard to show the related actions as buttons. However, after upgrading, if the user initiates one of those related actions, they will all still remain visible and active links. This causes duplication of data since the user can continuously press the same related action over and over.

Will update once we hear from Appian support.

Stefan Helzle this is different than previous versions where the user would select a related action button, navigate to a separate form, and not see the related actions. It seems that with 17.2 Appian nests the related action form within the dashboard thus causing the related actions to remain active and visible.

This is no change to earlier versions. To prevent this you need to implement a locking mechanism.

What do you mean by "the full list of related actions on the dashboard remain available as buttons on the top of the interface."? Is it like something below?

Thats great. We are currently working on v17.1 and hence I have not came across this issue. So, Let us hear from others associates who are experiencing v17.2.

Yes we did raise as a support ticket. Figured I would ask the community in case there were known workarounds we can leverage while we troubleshoot with Appian. Thanks

Hi jaker,
Did you manage to raise a support ticket with Appian ? Usaully these upgrade issues we should highlight immediately with Appian and Appian support fixes these product issues (if it is real bug) and releases patch as early as possible.

Also as you might aware that 17.3 release is planned to release on 23th Aug. So, lets hope for the best .. ! :)
