...except you need to provide the address to your Tableau site in the value of 'source'.

As per Christine's response, try not to let end-users go wild with reporting against the Transactional Data unless it's for genuine Operational Reporting purposes ("I need to know, here and now, with the up-to-the-minute data")

You can access Tableau using a browser, which also means you can embed it into an Appian page using a Web Content Field, so it at least "looks" like it's part of the Application.

What type of integration are you looking for (user experience)?
Generally for ad-hoc reporting, you would want to run that off of a data warehouse and not the core tables that process are performing CRUD activities on. They you can provide some links from the appian platform to tableau. Just an idea!
