Has this issue been addressed. Since the expression in the site will be updated only when the site loads r refreshes

Hi , I am having a similar use case where we are trying to provide custom branding as per user selection for a client from a dropdown. when user selects one client the logo and color of the site is branded as per selected choice from clients dropdown.

I am able to add the conditions but the only limitation is- after selecting URL needs a refresh to reflect custom branding changes.

my question is- do we have a command to refresh the site url (send hotkeys F5 may be) in Appian ?

A banner in the form would be pretty much 'in your face' and if encapsulated in a component, easily added to every interface.

I would like to have a visual indicator reflecting my status and to be able to see it quickly and easily from every pages (included forms) of my application. The navigation bar was perfect because we always see it.

So I have to add a component (re-used rule that calls the visual indicators) on every interfaces ?

I don't believe this is possible because Appian caches the color when you load the page. Even if you use activity chaining and provide a decently long wait time, it still returns to the cached view of the previous page, so the colors won't update.

Could you add some color somewhere else on the page to designate the status and leave the navigation bar a neutral color?

If I understand well, a way to solve my issue could be to had a waiting periode in my process after the updating phase to assure that the is well realised.

I tried it by adding a form and waiting few seconds before clicking on submit button (to continue/end the process) but it doesn' t solve my problem.

I think my main issue is not the 'race' between update and end of process but about the fact that the return to the initial place at the end of the process doesn't reload the page (I don't see animation, progress bar completing or thing like that saying there is a reload). So my color condition on this page is not re-evaluated. (It is when I reload the page

Are my details clear enough ?

Mike's suggestion is probably the way to go. What happens when the process chaining is broken is that in effect you get a 'race condition' where Appian is both returning the User to the place where they started the process, and also running the process. If the User is returned (and the page is refreshed) before the process completes any update to the database then you'll see the old data.

The only thing I can think of is to make sure activity chaining is enabled and unbroken for as long as possible in the process -- at least until the last database writes are completed, and perhaps as long as until the very end if possible. I haven't tried this on a Site per se, but I do know that this makes the difference as to whether the refreshed version of data is seen i.e. on a Record listing after completing a Related Action.
