I wanted to know how a user input task can be completed automatically. This user interface has a message and submit button (value set through submit rule input). By default the submit button (rule input is set as False), trying to find a way

RE: How to complete a user input task automatically ?

Thanks. Escalations option didn't help much. I was able to achieve it with the combination of timeout and SAIL code that i used in user interface. With these two, submit button set as True using refresh variable and when timeout occurs user gets redirected to home screen - i couldn't solve the pop-up issue but able to redirect user to home screen without user explicitly clicking on the button.

Thanks.

RE: How to complete a user input task automatically ?

You should use Input Task node escalations then https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/20.1/Process_Node_and_Smart_Service_Properties.html#escalation-tab

RE: How to complete a user input task automatically ?

Thanks for the reply. The screen that i mentioned is an application submission response screen with a back to home page button. I am looking for an option to skip this user interface screen if user has not clicked on the submit button for say 3 minutes. And this timeout shouldn't create a pop-up to the user indicating the task is completed/cancelled - meaning want to build the behavior as if like user has clicked on back to home button.

RE: How to complete a user input task automatically ?

There isn't a way to have a task complete itself automatically. Having an exception timer will work because you can create a new flow from the exception. If the task can be completed automatically, then why have a task at all? Why not have logic in the process model to skip over the task?
