I'm following the rules guidance but still need the ability to hide show sections. Makes it so that you have to create two forms instead of one to do the same thing.

That's fair. We recommend breaking your UIs up into rules so that they become easier to read, and maintain. Your feedback are all very much appreciated! Let us know how we can make the docs and especially the SAIL tutorial and recipes easier to search/use/extend as you work with them.

Hi Annelise, yes I'd seen that. All well and good for the snippet in the recipe but put that in real world expressions with 100's lines in and it becomes less obvious. SAIL is taking massive steps with each release which I love but I hope things like this and collapsable sections soon become as easy to handle as they were in portal forms.

Tim, the SAIL tutorial has a section for conditionally showing SAIL components: forum.appian.com/.../SAIL_Tutorial

And the SAIL Recipe shows the dropdown case: forum.appian.com/.../SAIL_Recipes

We'll update the wording a bit so that you'll find these examples if you were to look for show/hide within a page. Thanks for the feedback.

This would probably be a massive can of worms, but has Appian HQ ever thought about opening up the wiki to be more like a wiki? I'm not a mediaWiki expert, but I seem to remember there being a setting or plugin that let guests edit pages and send the changes to be reviewed by an admin before publishing.

It's just something that I always thought would be helpful. I find the occasional typo or syntax error and it would be nice to just submit the change request instead of starting a whole conversation just to add a comma somewhere. Of course those willing and able could also add more content to the wiki to fill in any gaps in the documentation.

Hey there Tarun,
I've been using the 'SAIL Recipes' page (forum.appian.com/.../SAIL_Recipes) to try out the new features. There's one called "Use Links in a Grid to Show More Details About an Object" which is similar to what you're looking for.
Essentially you use local variables and if statements to output a SAIL expression or null depending on the local variable's value.
