I created the process and set the desired interface as the starting interface. I imported all the interface variables into the "Process Start Form" section and set the desired values, but, when I save the process model and start the interface the values of the rule inputs are still "null". Why?

Appian does work this way. Variables and rule inputs are only updated on user interaction. If you want to pre-populate rule inputs, check
