Hi aksharc yes you can use Multiple sorting for todatasubset(). As per my understanding, Multiple sorting is supported by almost all the functions in Appian which uses sortInfo(), such as: todatasubset(), a!dataSubset(), a!pagingInfo() etc..

todatasubset does support multiple sorts now. This is highlighted in the examples in the documentation. docs.appian.com/.../fnc_scripting_todatasubset.html

I don't think you will find anything saying this is a good practice in the Appian guidelines. How will using a JSON string solve your issue? You will still have to somehow modify your old processes to have whatever values you want to store in the JSON…
