KB-1724 Failed to enable Plug-in 'People Functions' due to "The following function(s) are already registered in the system:"

Symptoms

When attempting to deploy the People Functions plugin, the plugin will fail to deploy, and the following error is printed in the application server log:

ERROR com.appiancorp.plugins.LoggingPluginEventListener - Failed to enable Plug-in 'People Functions': 'The following function(s) are already registered in the system:'

Cause

The functions listed in the error already exist in the environment. This is because either the Group Management or Group Functions plugin has already been deployed.

Action

For Appian Cloud environments, contact Appian Support to have the Group Management or Group Functions plugins uninstalled.

For Self-managed environments, have the System Administrator uninstall the Group Management or Group Functions plugins.

Note: The People Functions plugin contains functions that were previously included in the Group Functions plugin and the User and Group Management Application plug-in.

Cause

The functions listed in the error already exist in the environment. This is because either the Group Management or Group Functions plugin has already been deployed.

Action

For Appian Cloud environments, contact Appian Support to have the Group Management or Group Functions plugins uninstalled.

For On-Premise environments, have the System Administrator uninstall the Group Management or Group Functions plugins.

Note: The People Functions plugin contains functions that were previously included in the Group Functions plugin and the User and Group Management Application plug-in.
