Symptoms

When using Xcode to upload a new custom build of the Appian for Mobile Devices iOS application to App Store Connect, the upload fails with the following error:

ERROR ITMS-90596: "Invalid Bundle. The asset catalog at 'Payload/Appian.app/Assets.car' can't be read. Try rebuilding the app with a non-beta version of Xcode and submit it again."

Cause

This error occurs when an out-of date version of Xcode is used to upload the build.

Action

Update to the latest version of Xcode.

Affected Versions

This article applies to all versions of custom builds of the Appian for Mobile Devices application for iOS.
