This issue has been resolved in an Appian hotfix/new Appian version. Please apply the latest hotfix to your Appian installation or upgrade to the latest version of Appian.

Symptoms

Validations for editable grids fail to register for the first column of a grid:

Cause

This issue has been addressed via AN-140717 in Appian 19.3.

Action

Upgrade to the latest version of Appian.

Workaround

Either one of the following two workarounds will restore validations for the first column of the editable grid:

Remove the rowHeader parameter from the a!gridLayout() component.
Add a read-only column ahead of the first column in the editable grid:

Affected Versions

This article applies to all versions of Appian from Appian 18.3 to Appian 19.2.
