Symptoms

The banner message for a Start Process Link appears as "???????????" once the process starts successfully after completing any initial chained forms:

Cause

The banner message contains characters from a language that is not supported by your version of Appian, so they are unable to be displayed correctly.

Action

Ensure the banner message only contains characters from languages that are supported by your specific version of Appian, as newer versions of Appian may have added support for languages that are not supported on earlier versions. Supported languages for you Appian version can be found in the Administration Console documentation here.
