&lt;h2 id="symptoms"&gt;Symptoms&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A report is exported using the export to Excel functionality. Upon opening the Excel report the following error is shown:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;pre&gt;Unable to read file.
&lt;/pre&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This issue is only seen when exporting the report from Internet Explorer. More information on the export to Excel functionality can be found in the &lt;a href="https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/latest/Process_Reports.html"&gt;Process Reports&lt;/a&gt; documentation.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2 id="cause"&gt;Cause&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There is a conflict in Internet Explorer that is preventing encrypted pages from being saved properly. More information is available in this &lt;a href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2549423"&gt;Microsoft Support Article&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2 id="action"&gt;Action&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;On the &lt;strong&gt;Tools&lt;/strong&gt; menu in Internet Explorer click &lt;strong&gt;Internet Options&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Click the &lt;strong&gt;Advanced&lt;/strong&gt; tab.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Clear the checkbox for &amp;quot;Do not save encrypted pages to disk&amp;quot; in the &lt;strong&gt;Security&lt;/strong&gt; section.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Click &lt;strong&gt;OK&lt;/strong&gt; (this is the default Internet Explorer setting).&lt;/li&gt;
