&lt;h2 id="symptoms"&gt;Symptoms&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;User experience degrades after substantial use with Internet Explorer 11 running on a Windows 7 operating system.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2 id="cause"&gt;Cause&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is due to Internet Explorer 11 update 11.0.9600.18059 released on 31 October 2015 via &lt;a href="https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3093983"&gt;KB3093983&lt;/a&gt; and is caused by a memory leak in the spelling correction add-on.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2 id="action"&gt;Action&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The memory leak&amp;nbsp;has been addressed by Microsoft in Internet Explorer version 11.0.9600.18100. Please apply the latest security update from Microsoft to take advantage of the fix.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;h2 id="workaround"&gt;Workaround&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To work around the issue, users can disable spelling correction in Internet Explorer by performing the following steps:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Click on the gear icon in the top-right corner of the Internet Explorer.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Click &lt;strong&gt;Manage Add-ons&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;In the list on the left of the &lt;strong&gt;Manage Add-ons&lt;/strong&gt; window, click on &lt;strong&gt;Spelling Correction&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;In the bottom-left corner of the &lt;strong&gt;Manage Add-ons&lt;/strong&gt; window, uncheck the box for &lt;strong&gt;Enable spelling correction&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Close and reopen Internet Explorer.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;h2 id="affected-versions"&gt;Affected Versions&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This article applies to all versions of Appian using Internet Explorer 11 as a Web browser.&lt;/p&gt;
