Symptoms

When starting WebLogic Application Server, the following error message can be seen in the server logs:

<BEA-149205> <Failed to initialize the application "suite" due to error weblogic.application.ModuleException: 52264
...
Caused By: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 52264

Note: This error can also be seen in other application servers under a similar form, with java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 52264 as the common denominator.

Cause

This error message is thrown when the version of WebLogic installed is not compatible with JDK 8.

Action

When installing Appian, refer to the System Requirements to verify that the supported version of the application server is being used.

If this is not the case, re-install the application server with the supported version.

Affected Versions

This article applies to Appian 7.8 and later using WebLogic as an application server and JDK 8.
