Google has deprecated AutoML Natural Language and is shutting down the feature on January 23, 2024.

AutoML Natural Language is used in the Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) application and/or Smart Services when using Google for its document classification capabilities.

Impact

Any development on IDP using Google Cloud Platform Document Classification Smart Services will no longer work after the feature is removed.

Action

Cloud

Option 1: Upgrade to Appian version 23.2 and above and switch to using AI Skill for document classification.
Option 2: License with another 3rd party platform directly and bring your credentials to Appian.

Self-Managed

Obtain document classification capabilities from another 3rd party platform.

Affected Versions

This article applies to all versions of Appian.
