KB-1181 "The External System [identifier=ahc.collection] does not exist, has been deleted, or you do not have sufficient privileges to access its data" error thrown when running an Appian Health Check

Symptoms

Appian Health Check’s data collection fails to execute and throws the following error in the application-server.log:

[Appian Work Item - XXXXXX - ProcessExecXX : UnattendedJavaActivityRequest] ERROR com.appian.integration.httpclient.function.HttpFunction - ConnectorRuntimeException [title=Failed to retrieve value from SCS username=, com.appian.integration.core.exception.ConnectorRuntimeException: ObjectNotFoundException[ahc.collection]: The External System [identifier=ahc.collection] does not exist, has been deleted, or you do not have sufficient privileges to access its data. (APNX-1-4217-001)]

Cause

This could happen if the Health Check application and the Health Check plug-in are on different versions. Typically, this would be seen if the plug-in is updated to the latest version, but the application is not. The code is calling an object that is not part of the application.

Action

  1. Download the latest version of the Health Check Application from the AppMarket and deploy to the affected site.
  2. Update the Health Check plug-in to the latest version. Ensure the correct version is updated depending if the installation is On-Premise or on Appian Cloud.

Affected Versions

This article applies to all versions of Appian using the Health Check plugin.
