KB-1199 "Appian does not have sufficient privileges to the selected datasource" error when creating a new application using "Create using Application Builder" setting in /design

Symptoms

When a user tries to create a new application via "Create using Application Builder", the following error is displayed:

Appian does not have sufficient privileges to the selected datasource. Appian requires CREATE, ALTER, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE permissions to successfully build apps with the application builder.

Cause

The user used to access the data source does not have the permissions to run the following commands: CREATE, ALTER, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE

Action

To resolve the issue:

Go to the Admin Console > Data Sources.
Verify that the user for the specified data source is correct.
Determine which permission is missing by running the following commands outside of Appian: CREATE, ALTER, INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE.
Contact your DBA and provide which permission needs to be granted to the user.
