&lt;h2 id="symptoms"&gt;Symptoms&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;When a &lt;a href="https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/latest/Process_Reports.html"&gt;process report&lt;/a&gt; is exported from the &lt;em&gt;/designer&lt;/em&gt; or &lt;em&gt;/apps&lt;/em&gt; interfaces, it appears blank when opened in Microsoft Excel.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2 id="cause"&gt;Cause&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This behavior is caused by a configuration in Microsoft Excel that prevents it from trusting files that originate from the internet. For more information, see this Microsoft article &lt;a href="http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-excel/excel-2010-kb3115322-opening-downloaded-files/19b8ab42-d0c4-402d-aa79-ad86e191fcc9?auth=1"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h2 id="action"&gt;Action&lt;/h2&gt;
&lt;p&gt;To resolve this issue, disable Protected View for files originating from the internet in Excel:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Open Excel.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Navigate to &lt;strong&gt;Options&lt;/strong&gt; -&amp;gt; &lt;strong&gt;Trust Center&lt;/strong&gt; -&amp;gt; &lt;strong&gt;Trust Center Settings&lt;/strong&gt; -&amp;gt; &lt;strong&gt;Protected View&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Uncheck the &lt;strong&gt;Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet&lt;/strong&gt; check box.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Restart Excel.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Once Excel is configured correctly, the existing file can be opened. The report does not need to be re-exported.&lt;/p&gt;
