Symptoms

Appian throws the following error when attempting to view a form that contains the File Upload Component:

Error Evaluating UI Expression

This error occurs when viewing a form in Appian 18.1 on an Android mobile device. The error modal prevents the user from using the form or taking any further action in the mobile application.

The following is an example of the error received when attempting to open the form from the Actions tab:
