Hi team,
I've installed appian to local computer(Windows 7). I did the steps mentioned in
forum.appian.com/.../Quick_Start_Installation_Guide_for_Windows_and_JBoss.html
Installed the ff:
- Appian
- MySql5.6
- JBoss 6.4
and deployed configuration using the configuration script (windows batch file) from <APPIAN_HOME>\\_admin\\_scripts\\configure.
I started JBoss-standalone first
\\<JBOSS_HOME\\>\\bin\\standalone.bat
and then
\\<APPIAN_HOME\\>\\server\\_scripts\\start-suite.bat
\\<APPIAN_HOME\\>\\search-server\\bin\\start.bat
I tried to login to appian using the link - "
http://localhost:8080/suite"
but there's no login page.
There's an error that it's not accessible. I tried to access just this link - "
http://localhost:8080"
and it directs me to JBoss home.
I shut down appian and jboss, and restarted the computer, then start appian and jboss again. But this time, the JBoss server wont start up. The command prompt where you ...

...can see that the app server is starting, is immediately closed(which did not happened on the first run). I checked windows task manager, and it's confirmed that the there's no jboss running.
Please advise on how to resolve the following:
1. Why I don't get the appian login page(on the first run)?
2. Why the JBoss(standalone) won't start?
Thanks in advance!

As per the docs, start the engines before the search server and then JBoss:
forum.appian.com/.../Quick_Start_Installation_Guide_for_Windows_and_JBoss.html
If it still doesnt start correctly, attach the JBoss server log from <JBoss Home>/standalone/logs/server.log

suite.ear has not been deployed. To resolve this:
1, Check <Appian Home>/ear/ for marker files like suite.ear.failed, if it exists rename to suite.ear.dodeploy
2. Do the same for appian-ds.xml in <JBoss Home>/standalone/deployments

I've renamed the .failed file in <jboss home>/standalone/deployments
I opened the file using text editor, it shows below error:
{"JBAS014653: Composite operation failed and was rolled back. Steps that failed:" => {"Operation step-2" => {"JBAS014771: Services with missing/unavailable dependencies" => ["jboss.data-source.jdbc/AppianPrimaryDS is missing [jboss.jdbc-driver.com_mysql_jdbc]"]}}}

It seems you have missed some steps in the startup guide
forum.appian.com/.../Quick_Start_Installation_Guide_for_Windows_and_JBoss.html
review the section regarding adding the mysql driver

@jessicae
Start the appian engine first.
1. \\
\\server\\_scripts\\start-suite.bat
2. \\
\\search-server\\bin\\start.bat
(Wait for a while , it will take few mins to start appian search server)
3. Run following command to check all appian engines are started correctly or not ?
\\
\\server\\_scripts\\diagnostic\\checkengine.bat
4. If all services started correctly start the Jboss Server.
\\
\\bin\\standalone.bat

Hi pratibhat, I only see the message below when running checkengine.bat. (I've waited for the appian search server to start).
"Detected 32 bit OS."
k3.lic
@tom JBoss still won't start. The datasource configuration is shown below.

jessicae:
I think there is a mismatch between your machine OS version and appian lic key version. Kindly check both versions.
