Hi there,
We are trying to upgrade our on-premise installation from 7.11 to 16.1. Following the upgrade guide, we made sure not to miss upgrade aspects such as:
- primary data store having a different property name
- replacing static content of the webserver
- upgraded configuration files / web.xml / topology etc.
We are running the Appian server on JBoss EAP 6.4.0 on IIS with MySQL connector 5.1.38-bin.jar. Previously, upgraded from 7.9 -> 7.10 -> 7.11 and last version ran perfectly fine.
After upgrading to 16.1 we can't access the records, the design has a "sysrule.appdesigner.filter.search" message (see screenshot below). In the attachments the server.log is there. We tried going through the upgrade process several times and re-downloaded the 16.1 installer.
Main error we get is:
12:07:26,952 INFO [stdout] (ajp-/0.0.0.0:8009-1) 2016-02-22 12:07:26,947 [ajp-/0.0.0.0:8009-1] ERROR com.appiancorp.expr...

...ession.plugin.ResourceAppianInternal - Exception getting key: java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find resource for bundle java.util.PropertyResourceBundle, key sysrule.appdesigner.filter.search

What are we missing here? Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi,
Please try the following:
1. In <APPIAN_HOME>\\ear\\suite.ear\\web.war\\WEB-INF\\bundled-apps, import system.zip to /design
2. If this doesn't fix the issue, then recopy the static content into your web server directory

Hi Khalil,
Thanks for the reply. Tried step 2, that didn't solve it unfortunately.
With regards to step 1, which /design folder is it, <APPIAN_HOME>\\server\\process\\design?

My apologies for the confusion. I meant importing the zip file as an application in your browser: <URL>/design

Do you know if this error is also linked to not having copied a certain set of content?

From the same folder I tried to import the records.zip in the same manner. That seemed to solve our issue.
