Hi, I am using "MS word 2007 doc to Template" smart service

Hi,
I am using "MS word 2007 doc to Template" smart service to generate the report. I have large number of ###key### in the template. Everything works fine.
But when I make some changes in the template and upload it again, it removes the most of the mappings done previously. I has to do it again and again each time I update the template.
e.g. Even if I modify the alignment of the text and upload the new version of the document, and when I go back to that node and rescan the template, some of the mappings will be lost. (If I run the process model without rescanning or updating the new template in that node, generated report does not replace the ###key### values.
Please advice....

Note that this constraint is documented here
forum.appian.com/.../Word_Doc_from_Template_Smart_Service
"Your keyed template fields must pass Microsoft Word's spelling and grammar tests. When viewing the template in Microsoft Word, be sure to right-click the field in your template and select Ignore for any spelling or grammar issues that are listed. Ensure that any text formatting is contiguously applied to the entire substitution key, and not any partial section of the key. Formatting creates XML tags in the template that render the substitution key unrecognizable if an opening or closing tag falls within the key."

If the name of the tokens remains then the only thing you have to do is to re-select the document since when you click "Refresh" the document will no longer show in the document picker but once you re-select it the mappings will remain unless there's formatting added to the document that is impacting the tokens as explained by Mike.

Jim/Ed - are there any other workarounds to this issue? Turning on/off the feature is too cumbersome for the customer. Also, a note on the constraint posted by Eduardo, sometimes the spelling errors show up and others don't - but in either case, the tokens do not get mapped to. Thanks!

Unfortunately I am not aware of other workaround and in general is hard to control/predict how the proprietary code of Microsoft places the tags. I'll let others comment on this.
