Hi,
Appian can handle extensive document management needs, incorporating AWS's advanced security and compliance features to ensure data safety and regulatory adherence. The capacity and capabilities are defined by AWS S3, offering flexibility and robustness for enterprise document storage solutions.
Appian itself does not provide built-in S3 storage capabilities or a native "box" for file storage. However, it offers robust integrations with external storage solutions like AWS S3 through plugins available on the Appian AppMarket. You can utilize the AWS S3 plugin to connect Appian with AWS S3, allowing you to store and retrieve documents. This setup requires configuring specific AWS users, roles, and bucket policies to establish a secure and private connection.

You can use 'AWS S3' plugin to connect from Appian to AWS S3.
You can refer this post for configuring user, role and bucket policy for private vpce connection.

Appian doesn't really have any "box" - i'm wondering if you're confused about what Appian is, and isn't...
Ok, thank you!
No, Appian does not. But you can easily implement web APIs to send and retrieve files to/from Appian.
Yes, but from what I understand that is for appian to connect to them. My question is if appian itself has its own box with some file transfer protocol.
