Is there a discord channel or something similar where I can ask questions in real time?
I can't find anything that I need in the documentation and I really can't believe that I'm the first person to be asking some of these questions as to why Appian doesn't do certain things out of the box considering it is supposed to be a "low code" solution.

No discord channel. This is the place to ask questions.
You can ask your questions here and get a lot of different answers with different perspectives to it. Hope that helps!
Getting used to the Appian way of designing applications takes a while. And you might habe to un-learn a few of the things you did in the past.
You have 1000 questions? Bring it on!
This community is awesome - and I really need to thank everyone that participates. There are many other forums that I use and getting answers to questions is a pain. Hence I was hoping there was a discord channel. Not here though - this community is really active and fast.
Welcome aboard :-)
Someone started a chat in one of the Appian Dev facebook groups and I was hoping it might be an idea-exchange system like you're after here, but so far it's just devolved into a ton of different guys begging for job openings...
I'm wondering how much of an appetite there is for a Discord for Appian devs... our forums are great for q&a but a place to hangout / share things more broadly could be fun. Thoughts?
A place to chat about ideas where job postings are not allowed!
I'd be in favor / happy to participate.
Discord server for Appian developers sounds like a fantastic idea! It can be a fun and engaging platform for developers to hang out and connect with each other. Go ahead - it's likely to be well-received by the community!
