Trying to get a report using a custom field that was added to the user account page. The field is 'customField1'
I can pull back the field here - user("username","customField1")
But what I am looking for is how to pull back the field for every user in a group that I select, and count the different groups.
IE: My field is called group #, and user1 is group 1 and user2 is group 2, user3 is group 1, so I want to return group 1=2, group 2=1.
I want to put in either one group, or multiple groups and pull back the count of each group # for the entire group.
will it be something like this? =count(user(GroupName,'customField1')), but that gives me an error....

Why don't you try using the getdistinctusers() function e.g.
=count(getdistinctusers(topeople(ri!groupID)))

That gives me the number of users in a group, but doesn't do anything with my customfield.
How can I include the customField1 in that same rule?

So to get a list of all the attributes, you can do the following -
apply(fn!user, getdistinctusers(topeople(ri!groupID)), "customField1").
Before I go any further to help with the distinct counts, what version of Appian are you on?

We are using Appian 7.2. That looks like it's getting closer. I pull back this output: CostCenter: , , , , , 1945, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , 1955, , , , , 1945

And this is a Tempo Report right? Also, based on what the result currently pulls, what should the final result be?

For now I am just testing this in the Rules tab. Eventually it will go in a report and it should show:
Group: Designers
Cost Center:
1945 - 1
1946 - 20
1947 - 5

How are you planning on displaying this on the report? List of strings? Grid?

Whatever way is easiest I guess, since I just want to see the information so I can see a quick report of the results.
