Upload large document (31Mb)
bojanb

Hello,
In a process form, our client is trying to upload a larger file (31MB) using "inlinefileupload" field, but he is unable to do that. Every other document (and other employess) was successfully uploaded till now.
Does Appian have some limitation for uploading large files, and if so how much is the allowed file size and can it be increased?
Thank you in advance... BR, Bojan

Just to clarify, the upload of the file is not made on a form, but directly on Appian in the "Documents" tab...

Hi,
Below are the limitations that Appian impose while Uploading a File.
1. Characters \\ / ; : " | ? ' < > * are not accepted for file names.
2. Files cannot be larger than your disk quota.
3. Files cannot be larger than 1GB in size.

So, the file size that you have mentioned (31MB), when compared with the max allowed, shouldn't be an issue!
Can you share us the error which you are encountering?

I just contacted our client, and the file name is definitely not using the special characters you specified. Also, the is no error - in the documents tab, the user clicks on upload, then he chooses the destination folder, and he browses the file... Afterwards, he clicks on "Submit" and nothing happens (he says he even waited for an hour in one one of his tries).

If it is affecting a single user it could potentially be his browser - we have seen corporate browser settings do some strange things to file uploads. I would suggest he try with a different browser than his usual one.

He says he tried using several browsers, but the result was always the same - no success.

No, everything seems to be OK. I have no idea how this happened...

@bojanb
Are you saying its fine now?
If not, can you check whether the same user can upload a different file of same size in that same folder and let us know the outcome of it?

Yes, the user can upload other files, but not this one.
