January 2023 Release Notes

Net Zero Carbon App

The Net Zero Carbon app is a fully functioning demo application that showcases all of Appian’s core capabilities. In this release, you’ll find two brand new demos:

• The first features how easily Appian manages dynamic cases.
• The second guides you through how Appian’s data fabric unifies data across different systems.

We’ve also made various enhancements throughout the app, giving you even more room to explore.

Dynamic Case Management

In the Transportation Lane Consolidation demo, you’ll play the role of a plant operations manager who has recently uncovered an opportunity to collaborate with nearby facilities to reduce shipping emissions.

You'll be able to: 

• Create a case with multiple assignees
• Add additional assignees to the case while it’s already in progress
• Rearrange the order in which the assignees complete their tasks

Data Fabric

Discover how Appian allows you to connect and take action on data living in disparate systems in this data fabric demo. You’ll learn how Appian data fabric eliminates data silos, giving organizations a 360° view of their business. You’ll also create a record level security rule to see how Appian data fabric simplifies data security management across systems.

Process Score Cards

As part of the Appian Process Mining demo, you can:

• Leverage the Scorecard feature to track and analyze performance metrics for a mined process.
• Compare a poorly performing process against a target and receive a score
• After the process has been enhanced, score it against the target again, and see how much it has improved
• Experience firsthand how Appian data fabric simplifies data security management across systems

Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

Not all systems have modern integrations or APIs to hook into. With this new addition to the Transportation Lane Reporting demo, bridge the gap to legacy systems by setting up an RPA resource that will scrape shipping data from a website.

Take Action Tab

Tasks generated by the Energy, Transportation, and Lane Consolidation demos are now conveniently displayed on the Take Action tab. Here, you can take action on tasks, along with creating and managing cases.

Reset Demo Buttons

With the new reset buttons on the Energy and Transportation tabs, you can reset the demos to their default state so that you can go through the demos as many times as you’d like.
