User Analytics, Compliance and Governance

Overview

The User Analytics, Compliance and Governance app offers the logs of a user's activity in the Appian environment with comprehensive analytics, proactive monitoring, and notifications. The audit feature is designed to meet the auditing, compliance, security, and governance policies of companies implementing applications on the Appian platform.

This app addresses the following business requirements:

• Supports an organization's Data Protection and Compliance Program by providing an audit for a range of user activities as they work with applications built on the Appian platform.
• Provides answers to how different business users and stakeholders are using the various applications and offers insights to most commonly asked real-time usage questions.
• Delivers a robust set of out-of-the-box configurable alerts to inform and control suspicious user behavior.
• Enables the development of a data privacy assessment program, the design of operational controls and data protection safeguards.
• Provides easy to integrate API's for exporting data to log discovery tools and enterprise logging applications (for pattern determination etc.).

Key Features & Functionality

• Displays user activity logs into an easy-to-understand interface with multiple reports to analyze user activity patterns.
• Every report in the application has the capability to drill down to provide granular details.
• Gives users personalized dashboards with multiple preferred reports and the capability to lock the report filters for specific timeframes.
• Grants visibility to application stakeholders to view the most and least-used aspects and areas of their applications.
• Provides reports to provide insights on items such as the following:
  • Detailed activities of a user on the system including user login behavior and work pattern
  • Percentage of users who access the system from the web and a mobile device
  • Maximum activity on the system by day/week
  • User logins by geographical locations
  • Most accessed records across applications
  • Most accessed sites and site pages
  • Most used reports, tasks, and actions
  • Top downloaded files
• Makes out-of-the-box, predefined rules available that users can configure to send an alert of suspicious activity.  Examples: user failed login attempt, password resets, log in with risky or a non-corporate IP address, administrator activity, etc.
• Provides an easy-to-use app configuration page to manage all the setup and administrative activities.
