Virtual Application Review

Overview

Generally code reviews can be very manual, time-consuming and prone to error. Often times these reviews are skipped or solely based on a team lead's discretion resulting in a mismanagement of expectations and deployment issues.

Incessant's Virtual Application Review (iVAR) tool is built on Appian to automate the application code review process.  The tool reviews the application against best practices defined using Incessant's experience and provides a review on code quality. It is also integrated with Appian Health check and Unit Testing framework to provide better visibility of Appian objects that comply with coding standards. The list of best practices to apply against the application, severity of issues can be pre-configured by administrator so that each observation can be tracked to closure.

The tool works in three easy steps:

  1. A developer can upload their part of code as an application or patch zip for analysis.
  2. The tool reviews the application or patch against best practices configured and provide details through a dashboard.
  3. Users can view reports to get a holistic view of the entire environment.
