Appian 3D+ is a component plug-in that integrates with your data fabric to let you visualize and interact with 3D models—on any interface in any business process. It supports more than 30 file types from leading computer aided design (CAD) vendors. Appian 3D+ is available in self-managed environments and Appian Cloud.
Beginning in April 2024, Appian conducted a six-month beta program for Appian 3D+. The beta program had 10 participating organizations, including Appian partners and customers from the life sciences, energy, transportation, and public sectors.
Beta program use cases
- Life sciences: A life sciences company used Appian to orchestrate the process of visualizing and approving designs for patient-specific surgical implants and devices. With Appian 3D+, surgeons can now see, interact with, and approve the designs in Appian, streamlining the approval process overall.
- Energy: A corporate trainer at an energy company used Appian to automate the onboarding process for power plant operators. With Appian 3D+, new employees can now interact with models of the equipment they need to learn how to operate.
- Transportation: A transportation company used Appian to automate the reporting process for issues with vehicles and other infrastructure. With Appian 3D+, they can identify the location of vehicle issues more precisely for faster resolution.
