External Access to Data Fabric

Exposing data fabric to external systems via industry-standard drivers and protocols is a key step in establishing seamless interoperability between Appian and external enterprise technology ecosystems. This new data fabric capability provides a high-performance pathway for external applications, BI tools, and AI agents to interact with business data with maximum precision and architectural efficiency.

The following drivers and protocols can be used to access data fabric from any external system or application across your organization:

  • Apache Arrow Driver
  • Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) Driver
  • Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) Driver

We are looking for participants with the following target use cases:

  • Business Intelligence: Enable access to real-time operational data in external reporting tools like PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Data Science and Engineering: Access a unified enterprise data model to simplify data preparation and movement in data science and engineering workflows.
  • Software Development: Use data fabric to simplify integrating, optimizing, and scaling access to enterprise data in external applications and software systems.
