COVID-19 Vaccine Management System

This application project serves as one-stop solution for the members of the community to check their eligibility, provide supporting information and make a booking for vaccination.

Inspiration

The global health pandemic caused by the COVID-19 has impacted everyone's life. The governments around the world are spending millions on softwares to manage vaccination rollout plan. This inspired us to think, how can we utilize Appian for the community.

What it does

The presented solution help people to easily verify their eligibility and provide supporting information to make vaccination booking in one go. Customers can use a web browser or their mobile devices to access the application. A confirmation via email or SMS along with a QR code will be sent. It will be used at the vaccination centre and for immigration.

Accomplishment we're proud of

COVID vaccination management system is an omnichannel application that can be accessed from different platforms such as web, mobile or tablet etc. It provides end to end vaccine management capability by using google maps, QR code, Appian Mobile App, Appian RPA, DocuSign, reminder SMS etc. I am also very excited as we are solving a social problem by using technology.

Technologies Used

Appian BPM capability is used to manage the overall workflow for the COVID-19 Vaccination management system.

Google Maps API is used to search the address and show directions from home to vaccination center.

QR code is generated using Google API for quick scanning and locates user‚Äôs profile at the hospital and immigration.

Twilio is used to send a reminder message to the customer before the appointment.

DocuSign is used by the doctors to approve customers with pre-existing health conditions.

Appian RPA capability is used to update the legacy government system.

Challenges

As the COVID vaccine rollout is in the early stage, the pre-check and processes are not defined and may need some changes in future.

What we learnt

We learnt about Appian RPA, QR code generation, sending SMS using Twilio and launching App using QR code. Further, we also learnt availability of various COVID vaccine, pre-requisite for the vaccination and duration needed between each dosage.
