Measuring bottlenecks
michaelt1

Hello,
We suspect that we are experiencing contention / bottlenecks within our 7 engines and we think that adding in 2 more engines will help to alleviate this.
How does one measure contention / bottlenecks within an engine?
How do I measure our system both before and after the addition of extra engines to see if this has worked?
Cheers,
Michael

Micheal,
Before adding new engines, try to find out the rootcause.
1. Monitor your server performance
2. Make sure checkpointing is happening at regular intervals
3. Cleanup script is being scheduled to purge the unecessary logs/data/archives
4. Check your execution engine and analytic engine for the memory consumption.
5. Do check if you need your process data to be used for reporting pupose, else extra load on analytic engine can be avoided
6.. Do check your Data managment settings for heavily used process models.
7. If adding extra engines, do add same number of execution and analytic as they work in pair
