Unable to login after migration from 7.11 to 17.2

Hi All,

We are not able to login to Appian application after starting of JBOSS (we upgraded system from 7.11 to 17.2).

While login in to Appian we are getting error as "The username/password entered is invalid. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive".

By looking to server logs we found below error.

INFO [stdout] (http-0.0.0.0:8080-1) 2017-09-04 08:40:46,074 [http-0.0.0.0:8080-1] ERROR com.appiancorp.security.auth.AppianAuthenticationFailureHandler - Authentication failed. username=An error occurred while trying to initialize the session for ****** (Username).

Please help us in resolving the issue.

there is a change in spring security files from 7.11 to 16.2 to 17.x versions....pls upgrade from 7.11 to 16.2 and then from 16.2 to 17.2

Hi Aswinb,

If you are not on Appian 16.3 or higher, you must first update to 16.3 before updating to the 17.2, before 16.3 security file scripts and
after 16.3 security file scripts are different thats why you are getting error.For your reference go through the bellow link
