Password Reset For 17.3 Engines

We forgot the password which we used to start/stop engines in 17.3.

We want to stop the engines but we cannot until we remember the password.

Can we reset the password? If yes, how?

When we try to reset the password using --> ./password.sh -p <password>, we get the following error.

Please shutdown the following services before changing your password: [ServiceManager]

How can we resolve this error and change password?

I suggest following up with Appian Support, in case they have an undocumented procedure they can apply to reset the password given this situation.

Worst case, you may need to do a hard stop (e.g. kill <procid>) of service manager and K services. Once down, change the password and restart. Regardless, I strongly I recommend getting Support's opinion first, especially if this is a production system.
