For 6.6.1, I was told by my linux guru at our company to put JAVA_HOME="/path/to/jdk1.6.0_26" into the start script for Appian (~ run.custom.sh). If that sufficient, or do I need to change JAVA_HOME for the whole machine. I feel that the suggested approach by my linux guru overlooks ant scripts and the like. small note: JAVA_HOME (per the env command) points to /path/to/jdk1.6.0_23

There are other scripts within Appian that rely on java being on the PATH. If you don't update your JAVA_HOME and reference JAVA_HOME on your PATH, then these scripts might not function properly.
What's the argument against changing the global JAVA_HOME to 1.6.0_26?
