we recently tried to upgrade appian from 19.2 to 19.4 , but even though all the services are started, we keep on getting the error saying
Caused by: org.apache.kafka.common.errors.TimeoutException: Timed out waiting for a node assignment
[localhost-startStop-1] ERROR com.appian.komodo.util.kafka.KafkaUtils - Failed to establish a connection to (App Server stack)
can anyone please help on what might be the issue

I had the same problem before, try to install all over again and see if it will work.
