Does anyone know if Appian can have two different methods of authentication?

You can do different methods of authentication such as SAML, LDAP, and Appian Authentication (username & password) based on your Admin Console configuration. So the short answer is "yes", but it would be helpful to have additional context on what authentication methods you are considering.
