For a local installation of Appian: How do I identify how much storage/ memory usage is caused by a large(r) number of AUTOARCHIVE_DELAY?

The wish is to obtain a graph which shows the (additional) memory/ storage usage as a function of AUTOARCHIVE_DELAY (say in days). To me, it seems rather inpractical to incrementally increase AUTOARCHIVE_DELAY  (as it requires restart of the Appian platform), am I right? Plus, I do not know how to quantify the memory/ database/ storage usage to keep all completed, error-free process instances (what you see under "Monitoring > Process Activity")

Is there a rule of thumb for that (for a certain number of process models and users maybe)?

Background: The client would love to be able to see the _all_ process instances of the last 30 to 90 days - right now we are at 2 days.
