HI All,
how can I add new user to the community edition. The reason for this is, we both need to work on the same application.

You can do that from the Admin console from the Navigation pane next to the User profile icon in the site if you are an system administrator. You will have to go to the Users in the Admin console and create a new user. Add this user in all the groups that are necessary.

Can you check if you have System Administrator rights or if you are an basic user?
By the what is the page that you are currently in?
I don't see any such value. when I click on my name and then selected profile. nothing is displayed as you were referring to. user/administrator

What do you mean by Appian team? are you using the Beta edition? If yes you cannot add user.
Community edition Beta lets you have access via Single Sign On and won't let you have the visibility of other users. If you want to let other users access the environment, you can simply ask them to create a community account and then they will automatically have the access.
Unfortunately, adding new users directly isn't possible in the Appian Community Edition. This functionality is reserved for the paid versions with an Admin Console.
