I receive the following email when resetting the password from the Appian Console or using the "Forgot Password" option from the login page.
"We recently received a request to reset your password. However, it is not currently possible to reset your password because your credentials are maintained by another system.
You should contact your site administrator if you need to reset your password or if you did not expect this email."
Please help on to reset password.

Have you checked with your administrator if there is any maximum limit of failed logins? Ask if there is any time interval for the unlocking of the account. And if the Unlock Accounts Automatically option is enabled.
Do you have an non-Appian authentication provider enabled in your system? I typically see this if a user is associated with something like SAML login.
I would check to see if the user in question is associated with such a provider, and either remove them from authentication groups, or work attempt access through the appropriate login endpoint using the indicated web address identifier (https://docs.appian.com/suite/help/24.1/SAML_for_Single_Sign-On.html#web-address-identifier).
