Make sure you have the files ss.ear.dodeploy and suite.ear.dodeploy named correctly in the right locations. Refer to "Configure Startup Properties" section in forum.appian.com/.../Configuring_JBoss.html

Also, check that the <APPIAN_HOME>/ear/suite.ear/conf/appian-home.properties file contains AE_HOME=<APPIAN-HOME> Please attach this file.

Make sure log4j.properties is present at /usr/local/appian/search-server/ss.ear/ss.war/WEB-INF/ location and has enough permission.
