We are in the process of upgrading from version 7.7 to 7.9 and Appian 7.9 requires JBoss 6.3.3. Appian only supports JBoss 6.4 when it has Hotfix A installed.

We seem to be in a catch 22 situation: we need to be on Appian version 7.9 to install the 7.9.0.0 Hotfix Package A that is compatible with JBoss 6.4 but in order to install Appian 7.9, JBoss 6.3.3 installer is required.

JBoss 6.3.3 that we downloaded from RedHat is a patch, not an installable product as far as I can tell.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how we can migrate from 7.7 to 7.9?

Thank you Conor. I just received notification from Tech Support that we may be able to use JBoss 6.4 after all to install 7.9.

Here are his instructions if anyone else is interested:

Solution by Ramy Jaber.

You can apply the Hotfix A package along with the initial installation of Appian 7.9.

Simply do the following:
1. Follow steps 1-5 of the installation guide found here: (Linux) forum.appian.com/.../Linux_Installation_Guide_for_JBoss.html
2. After running the installer (step 5), follow the instructions to apply the hotfix here: forum.appian.com/.../Hotfixes.html
3. Continue with step 6 of the installation guide.

The status for this case has been changed to Solution by Ramy Jaber.
