I did ps | more on <APPIAN_HOME> and could not find any K process running? Also, I don't have any permissions to delete the entire appian directory and its contents.. Is there any other alternative?

Did this installation ever start? Or it was never able to start?
Do you have privileges to delete individual files?

yes, I do have privileges to delete individual files. The installation never started . But all 16 engines did come up before many times. The installation never started because the WLS part was wrongly configured.

ONLY because the installation is brand new and you didn't start the environment with the app server at all, try this
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/channels/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/collaboration/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/forums/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/metadata/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/notifications/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/personalization/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/portal/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/process/design/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/process/exec/00/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/process/exec/01/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/process/exec/02/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/logs/*.log
Try to start the engines again.

rm /hosting/products/appian/server/process/analytics/0001/gw1/*.kdb
rm /hosting/products/appian/server/process/analytics/0002/gw1/*.kdb

Did that.. Nopes... These 9 engines refuse to start.
The following 9 applications require *IMMEDIATE* attention:
Discussion Forums
Collaboration
Personalization
Process-Design
Process-Analytics0000
Process-Analytics0001
Process-Analytics0002
Process-Exec00
Process-Exec01

Since I made you delete the logs, the gw-process-execution0.log should now have the latest error. What's in there?
