We've just upgraded to 7.6 and increased our engines from 3 to 8 due to the three being HUGE (another issue altogether). The issue we are facing now is during the twice-daily checkpointing, the system is useless during the 5-15 minutes it takes to run (closer to 10 minute average). Is anyone else facing this? Should we then checkpoint more often? Regrettably, the system has to be available 24x6.

You may want to look at staggering the checkpoints using a scheduled job. More info here - forum.appian.com/.../Configuring_Application_Checkpointing.html
