Appian 7.9 requires JDK 1.8. On my machine I also have Appian 7.8 installed and Java 1.7 installed. I am going to install Appian 7.9 If I update the environment variable JAVA_HOME to point to JDK 1.8, will my Appian 7.8 installation still work? In other words, can Appian 7.8 use JDK 1.8?

Thank you for the link. It mentions that if you have applied Hotfix Package B or earlier to Appian 7.8, then you need JDK 1.7. For Hotfix Package C, JDK 1.8 can be used for Appian 7.8
