Has anyone successfully configured Appian with IIS 8.5?

Windows Server 2012 supports only IIS 8 / 8.5, however Appian's documentation lists configurations for IIS 7.5:

Hello did you even find documentation on this? We're trying to install on IIS 8

After more than a year, is this answered? I have tried with iis8.5 but having performance issue - eg: slowless. But if i changed the iis7.5 that sits on another vm to point to the same new installation, the peformance is so much better!
